If I were given a word to describe Belgium, I would choose the word Architecture. Why? Because all the 3 cities I have been to which are Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp have unique, historical and nice looking buildings. You can see some of the buildings that I captured as in the photos below.

Are you planning a trip to Hong Kong? Here's some suggestion on how your itinerary can be:

Day 1 : Arrival in Hong Kong airport  in the midday after taking a morning flight. Take a taxi from the airport to your hotel for hotel check-in and luggage drop. Taxi can be obtained easily from the airport with many signage and maps to guide you to the right taxi weather the Urban Taxi or the Lantau Taxi. Other options of transportation is either by taking the Airport Express train or the coaches from the airport.

 

After check-in and a bit of rest at the hotel, take the MRT and tram to get to the Peak, the highest point of the Hong Kong Island which offers a breathtaking view of Hong Kong. Both daytime and night view are amazing. Ensure you wear enough clothing if you visit here in winter.

 

 

Day 2: Spend the whole day at Disneyland, enjoy the rides and shows till the final parade.

 

 

For Muslims, don't worry about getting the Halal Food. There are two restaurant in Disneyland Hong Kong which offers Halal food. One of it is the Tahitian Terrace.

 

 

Day 3: Spend the whole day at another Hong Kong famous theme park, Ocean Park. There are so many rides to try here in addition to some shows such as the Dolphin show. Hence, ensure you get here early and wear layers of clothes during winter.

 

 

 

Day 4: Spend the whole day exploring and shopping at few of Hong Kong famous markets such as the Ladies Market and the Stanley Market which offer souvenir, clothing, accessories and many more or perhaps take a ride to Citygate Outlet, the largest outlet mall in Hong Kong.

 

During late afternoon, stroll along Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and Avenue of Stars to enjoy Hong Kong scenery and hang around until the Symphony of Light show begins at 8pm everyday. This show is named as the 'World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show' by Guinness World Record  and involves more than 40 buildings on both sides of Hong Kong harbour.

 

 

Day 5: Check-out and fly back home.

Singapore Flyer, or the giant ferris wheel is quite similar to the famous London Eye. Located at the Marina Bay, it offers amazing and panaromic view of the city. Ticket price for adult is S$33 while for children above 3 years old is S$21. Overall I conclude that the experience riding Singapore Flyer is fantastic =).  Below are some of the photos captured from inside of Singapore Flyer. You can even have a sky dining experience or celebrate a birthday dinner inside the Singapore Flyer flight. Do allocate 2-3 hours for a visit here for additional queuing time, souvenir hunting or perhaps even mealtime at plenty of restaurants at the terminal.

Southern France

Southern France is a holiday destination suitable for various kind of travellers. It offers the beautiful beaches of Mediterranean sea, the chic coastal towns of Nice and Cannes, the historical medieval villages, the  home to millionaires and artists, the beautiful islands and even one of the best ocean-type theme park that I've been too, that is Marineland. Many famous movies shooting were done here too.

 

We spent about 4 days on our last holiday to Southern France but to us it's not enough. There is so much to see here. The bus fare to get from one town to another was also cheap. If not mistaken, I think it was  only 1 euro. But that was few years back. Not sure about now. Below is the beautiful coastal town of Nice

In Nice, there is a place called Place Massena as in the photo below. It is basically a large plaza located in the old town section of Nice. It's also near to the seafront walkway. There is also a hill at this old town section with a waterfall at the top that offers a panaromic view of the City.We actually captured the first photo above from this hill.

Our next destination was the more exclusive  Monaco, the second smallest country in the world( about 1.95km square) after Vatican City and also the host to the annual Monaco Grand Prix. Below are the photos  captured in Monaco including the famous Monte Carlo and Port Monaco.

If you plan to visit Southern France, don't miss the visit to Marineland. During my last visit, it has the whale show which is rarely available if you go to other ocean-type theme park throughout the world. Though I really enjoy the whale show, I'm not sure whether it's ethical to keep the whale inside the park. I mean the whale is really big but then it's confined to such a small space as compared to the vast ocean. But then,  I'm sure it's been taken good care of inside this Marineland.

And lastly, ever heard of the Cannes Film Festival? Below is how the Cannes look like.. =) It's also a famous place in Southern France. Long time ago, Cannes was just a small fishing village but now it has transform into such a glamorous and expensive town which host the annual Cannes Film Festival.

Planning a trip for an extra long weekend? Perhaps an additional 1 or 2 days for your weekend due to back-to-back public holiday can cater a trip to Legoland Themepark in Johor Bahru. This theme park is highly recommended if you have children above 6 years old especially. Why 6? Because that's the minimum age for most of the rides in the Legoland Park. But to me, toddlers can still enjoy many things here.

Allocate one whole day to be spent here to enjoy all the rides. My advice is to come here not during school holidays.. Or you'll have to queue for the rides. The ticket price is RM 100++ for adult. A bit pricey but I think the entertainment is worth it. Try purchasing the tickets online and in advance to get a cheaper price. When we went there, there was a discount for Maybank credit card holder. There is also the Legoland water park (different ticket and price) if you enjoy water-based adventures. Also consider to get a one year pass if you live nearby and enjoy theme parks.

If you have an extra budget, stay one night at the Legoland Hotel Malaysia. The rooms are theme-based with kids own sleeping area (extra two bunk-beds) and even completed with  lego bricks set for your kids to play.

Legoland is  located nearby Puteri Harbour. If you are driving using the PLUS highway, take the Nusajaya exit. There are also few direct bus services to get here. One of it is from KL (pickup point at the Royale Bintang) at the price of RM 57 per adult for one way.

Of all the countries I've been to, Switzerland is definitely one of the countries that I wouldn't mind going again. In fact, I think I don't mind living here.. =) It's such a wonderful place with nice people and makes you feel safe.

If you plan to come here, don't miss the train rides to enjoy the spectacular view of  the Alps, clear blue lakes and the peaceful valleys.  Here's some of the photos captured during my train ride. Amazing isn't it? 

 

This train ride was actually to get to the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, about 3,454 metres above sea level. The train ticket is a bit expensive for me but it's definitely worth it. I don't think I'll ever get this high using my own foot.=) Sitting in a train to get to the peak of a mountain is totally much easier. However, if you plan to take this trip, check for the weather first. Bad weather might not allow you to see much and enjoy the activities at the peak of Jungfraujoch.

There's plenty of activities that you can do at the peak that fits a one-day trip. They even offer snowboarding and ski at a reasonable price. 

During our visit here, we stayed in Interlaken. It's a small peaceful town but the scenery is amazing. 

From my previous trip to Switzerland, I learned that Switzerland has a policy of neutrality which means it doesn't ally with any country on military and political activity. I also  learned that in Switzerland, it's compulsory for all the male citizen to serve  military training.  Switzerland is also one of the landlocked countries which means it is surrounded by landed neighbouring countries. Hence, Switzerland doesn't have any navy.

Other famous places you can consider to visit in Switzerland includes its largest city, Zurich, the largest lake Geneva, Europe's largest waterfall, The Rhine Falls and also the Swiss National Park.

Overall I think the holiday experience in Switzerland is superb. My largest expenditure during my trip was on the train tickets. The hotel prices varies subject to your preference. They even offer plenty of hostel stay for low budget travellers which can actually compensate the high train ticket price for me.

Tips Packing Melancong Luar Negara

Apa nak bawa kalau melancong di luar negara???

Wowie. Dengan pelbagai promosi harga tiket penerbangan ke destinasi luar negara, mesti ramai yang tak lepaskan peluang untuk beli tiket kan? Di sini, admin ingin kongsikan barang- barang penting yang sesuai dibawa bersama anda kalau nak melancong ke luar negara berdasarkan pengalaman admin.

1. Kompas arah solat bagi yang beragama islam.

2. Ubat-ubatan seperti panadol, ubat selsema, ubat batuk, ubat cirit, minyak panas/angin, plaster.

3. Kelengkapan pakaian sejuk sekiranya anda ingin melawat negara bermusim sejuk seperti sweater ( saya suka yang siap bertopi), gloves dan socks. Kalau negara tu sering dilanda angin sejuk dan hujan, mungkin baju yang berkonsepkan wind breaker dan kalis air paling sesuai. 

4. Plug converter sekiranya anda ingin melancong ke negara yang gunakan soket elektrik lain dari malaysia. Contohnya australia.

5. Beg yang sesuai untuk letak barang berharga seperti pasport dan wang. Contohnya backpack atau sling bag bergantung kepada keselesaan anda.

6. Kaca mata hitam untuk bergaya di dalam gambar =)

7. Lotion dan lip balm bagi negara yang bercuaca sejuk supaya kulit anda tidak kering.

8. Pakaian yang bersesuaian. Jangan lupa check dulu iklim negara yang ingin dilawati dan sediakan pakaian ikut cuaca. Saya juga gemar memakai kasut sneakers kerana lazimnya kita banyak berjalan. Jadi pilihlah kasut yang tidak menyakitkan

9. Makanan dan kelengkapan memasak  sekiranya anda ingin masak sendiri. Saya gemar bawa perencah nasi goreng, sardin, milo, roti, maggi dan biskut ringan. Masak sendiri lebih menjimatkan sekiranya anda ingin melancong lama. Bagi yang muslim,  sekarang dah banyak kedai jual daging/ ayam halal di luar negara. Jadi bahan mentah mungkin boleh dibeli di sana. Saya cadangkan anda research sedikit mengenai perkara ini.

10. Perancangan tentang tempat yang ingin dilawati. Seelok-eloknya anda sediakan jadual yang lengkap dengan masa, lokasi, transport, kos tiket perjalanan, kos tiket masuk ( sekiranya berkaitan). Ini penting supaya anda tak buang masa dan mempunyai budget kewangan yang mencukupi.

Kesimpulannya, admin lebih gemar beli dan sediakan barang barang serta perancangan di malaysia sebelum travel ke luar negara. Kalau dah sampi sana, mungkin anda akan susah nak cari barang keperluan sebab tak biasa dengan kedai di sana atau tak serasi dengan jenama barang di sana. Di samping itu perbezaan bahasa juga mungkin akan menyukarkan anda untuk berkomunikasi. So baiklah google siap-siap di malaysia tentang semua info penting dan mungkin juga perkataan simple dalam bahasa asing seperti terima kasih dan selamat pagi.
